*Cursive/ Cursive Presents: The Ugly Organ:

Pretentious indie rock people unite!    okay, okay, so I did buy it for the reason I read somewhere that Cursive is so indie, and I'd look ridiculously hip listening to it, but it's actually good. REally good. I later then got the older cds, but I really like this cd, so I haven't listened to those yet. UM....Cursive has this great infusion of cello and keyboard and guitar.  Favorite tracks (satirical look into how everyone is crying about their lives and making it into music and how they have to do it again and again and whatever to make some bling), Your Gentleman Caller (my life. without the pretty cello instrumental parts), and Sierra (what happens when you're a baby daddy)  Listen to it on a rainy day. Or when you need to feel creative.  Or when you want to show off your ridiculously hip outfit.

Various Artists/Mark Mothersburg//The Royal Tennenbaums Soundtrack

The movie is a classic in my book, and the soundtrack is quite good. Loads of lovely instrumental pieces from Mark Mothersburg, and also some pop hits from the past featuring The Ramones, Nico (a reason for living), The Velvet Underground, and more. I haven't gotten past the Elliot Smith track though, cos it kind of makes me want to slit my wrists. Slit my wrists in a good way, though. Luke Wilson is god.
